The DC Department of Insurance, Securities & Banking (DISB) has you covered.

Join DISB for a two-series event aimed at helping prospective college students and their parents prepare for college and navigate the application process during Hispanic Heritage Month. Topics include completing college applications, finding scholarships and applying for financial aid.

“What is FAFSA? Why do I need it?”

Session 2

“What college can/should I attend? How do I get a scholarship? If I am a dreamer, how do I qualify for financial aid?”
Tuesday, October 11

Agenda (Both Sessions):

  • 4 - 4:30 pm - Check-In (For in-person attendees participating in One-on-One Counseling)
  • 4:30 - 5:30 pm - One-on-One Counseling (For in-person attendees only)
  • 5:30 - 6:30 pm - Workshop (In-person and Virtual)

Please note: Check-in for the individual counseling appointments in-person will begin at 4 pm with counseling taking place between 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Bring your financial aid or admission documents, and a counselor will provide an individual review. The in-person and virtual workshop will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Bi-lingual counselors will be available.
