Strategies for Navigating Foreclosure, Reverse Mortgages, and Property Tax Relief

Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library and Online
Dec 17 from 4pm to 5:30pm EST

Join us for an informative session focused on empowering homeowners with the tools and knowledge to preserve their homes. This event will bring together experts from the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) and Legal Aid DC to discuss practical strategies and resources available to homeowners.

Topics will include:

  • Preventing Foreclosure: Legal Aid DC will share steps and legal protections available to help homeowners avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes.

  • Understanding Reverse Mortgages: DISB will provide insights into how reverse mortgages work, who they’re for, and how they can be used responsibly as a financial tool.

  • Property Tax Relief: We will also cover programs and options available to help eligible homeowners reduce their tax burdens.

This is a hybrid event. The link to join virtually will be sent out to registered attendees before the event.
