The Office of Communications is responsible for promoting the Department’s initiatives and programs. We develop relationships with stakeholders to strengthen the department’s efforts to preserve an efficient and effective financial marketplace in the District. As the official spokesperson for the department, our primary focus is to help the District community understand DISB, what we do, and how we “Protect Your Financial Interests.” We communicate the department’s stories through articles, letters to the editor, media interviews, Twitter and Facebook and organize community education events to help you better understand products and services offered by financial service providers. The department provides an array of information for consumers, small businesses owners and the media including tips and alerts, financial education campaigns, and self-education materials.
