The Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking in partnership with the District’s Elder Abuse Prevention Committee is sponsoring a free financial fraud prevention presentation for District seniors. The event will be held at the Albright Memorial United Methodist Church, 411 Rittenhouse St. NW, Washington, DC 20011.The one-hour presentation uses “Money Smart for Older Adults” materials produced by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. Money Smart for Older Adults is designed to provide information and tips to help prevent common frauds, scams and other types of elder financial exploitation.
