DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities statement on the passing of Marion Barry

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) extends its condolences to the family and friends of DC Councilmember and former mayor Marion Barry, who passed away early in the morning of November 23, 2014.

“Marion Barry was a fixture of Washington, DC politics for decades,” said Edmund Fleet, Chair of DCCAH. “As mayor and as a member of the council, he had a significant impact on the growth of the arts in this city.”
