Washington Metropolitan Division Unemployment Rate at 6.0 Percent

(Washington, DC) - The District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) reported today that the preliminary June job estimates show an increase of 11,500 jobs for a total of 2,517,500 jobs in the Washington Metropolitan Division. The private sector increased by 15,400 jobs, while the public sector decreased by 3,900 jobs. The Washington Metropolitan Division's not seasonally adjusted June 2013 unemployment rate was 6.0 percent, which is up 0.5 percentage points from the May revised rate of 5.5 percent.
