Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander Community Development

The Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander Community Development, also known as the Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (“CAPIA”) was established to advise the Mayor, the Council, the Director of the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (“MOAPIA”), and the public on the views and needs of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (“AAPI”) communities in the District of Columbia.

The Commission consists of at least 15 members, led by a Chair, all of whom are appointed by the Mayor and are District residents who reflect the demographic, geographic, and ethnic diversity of the District’s AAPI community.
